WASP3D 2009 Release: broadcast graphics: Afresh

WASP3D Modules
Comb Builder

The earlier available Comb Builder is now powered with user freindly Microsoft VSTA© that utilizes very common & easy coding for creating custom user interface for data entry. Comb Builder is useful for television stations where complex data graphics & analysis is required (like elections, sports, business etc.). Comb Builder facilitates artists to easy drag-drop controls for creating custom user interface for data entry forms of WASP3D scenes. The controls added to the form simply need to be associated to the WASP3D data tags for it to be available for data entry.

For Developers of Broadcast Applications

It includes a comprehensive visual programming IDE, supporting C#.NET and VB.NET. Developers can create complex data driven interfaces using the Comb Builder. The user can connect to databases, wire-feeds, RSS feeds and data gateways to build automation support for data entry. In addition, it offers host of options like publishing WASP3D templates, custom playlist creation, shotbox SDK application, WASPi Mimosa code behind, better GUI, IDE integrated help and many more controls & features available in .Net 2.0/3.5.

Microsoft VSTA© for Complex Data Graphics (Visual IDE)

WASP3D 2009 offers very common and easy programming for writing customized broadcast applications. Everything in the workflow is programmable right from playlist instance types, data entry interface, shot boxes etc. based on the visual studio 2008. For, complex data driven graphics, WASP3D 2009 offers a SDK (software developers kit) which allows writing custom broadcast applications in sports, business, elections & live events and more.

Code Editor Features:

The code editor is available for .NET developers to create full fledged applications for WASP3D data entry and on-air playout. Users can also automate the data input by connecting to third-party databases.

Multi-Language Support: Users can choose to work with C#,VB.Net.

Formatting Tools: Toolbar tools for lining up the selected controls in a graphical environment.

Refactoring: Making changes to your code like, "pulling a large stretch of inline code into its own method" or "converting a field to be a property." The Refactoring support makes this easy & doable. Under this programming model, you are developing code rapidly and iteratively, but to keep your code from becoming a jumbled mess, you must constantly Refactor.

Edit and Continue: Visual Basic has always been about Rapid Application Development (RAD). One key feature is the ability to fix runtime errors on the fly.

SmartTags: This provides access to information and common tasks without forcing you to constantly navigate away from your work area

Code Snippets: With code snippets, you can insert generic "template" code that requires only that you fill in the blanks. You can access code snippets by right-clicking in the code editor and navigating in the context menu to insert snippets.

Line Revision Marks: Line revision marks allow you to see the changes you've made during a coding session. When writing code in the IDE, you'll notice yellow and lime lines appearing down the left hand side of the code editor window.

Better Intellisense support: Another cool feature added to intellisense is the filtering applied - now if you press a letter and start typing, it will begin to restrict your choices displayed, not just scroll to that section. This filters the output and makes it easier to find what you are looking for.

Split View: It is becoming increasingly more common to have multiple monitors on developers’ desks; vertically & horizontally.

Debugging Features: Now you can debug your code in whatever programming language you use.

Standard Features:

• Syntax auto-complete
• Regular expression engine
• Font support and word wrap
• Triggers
• Enhanced find/replace
• Outlining; line modification marking
• Line indicators and span indicators

Extended Features:
